Lighting Quality Control Technician

Position Description:

The Lighting QC Technician job and purpose of all CPR employees is to maintain and ensure that the established company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols are adhered to and maintained at all times. The Lighting QC Technician will ensure all lighting fixtures/equipment has the required inspection and maintenance plans/QC programs implemented and followed. Will participate and be involved in all automated fixture cleaning & testing with final verification on all newly received products and ensure all quality control checks have been completed and executed. The Lighting QC Tech will report directly to the Lighting Manager.

Primary responsibilities of a Lighting QC Technician:

  • Schedules, coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on all owned and sub-rented lighting equipment based on companies established quality control processes.
  • Maintains and enters all factory acceptance testing and QC documentation.
  • Ensures maintenance policies and procedures are met and related paperwork is in order.
  • Ensures all equipment QC deadlines are met.
  • Ensures assets are ready for all outbound shipments.
  • Troubleshoots damaged equipment and communicates to Manager on a course of action.
  • Works in Flex Rental Inventory software.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Assists in daily warehouse duties that are delegated by Manager.
  • Maintains a positive and supportive attitude at all times. Reports to Manager of any and all personnel conflicts, grievances from other staff, and any violations of company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends.
  • Basic understanding of standard electrical procedures for safety, knowledge of standard electronic test equipment, and basic A/C, D/C and digital circuit operation.
  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude.
  • Electrical basics and fundamentals in troubleshooting.
  • High School Diploma required. College education preferred.
  • Minimum of three years working experience required.
  • Vari-Lite Technical Service Training – Preferred
  • Martin Advanced Training – Preferred
  • GLP Training – Preferred
  • Level one Robe Training – Preferred
  • Intro to GrandMA2 Training - Preferred
  • Hog 4 Training - Preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clear motor vehicle record. Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Flex Inventory control software knowledge a plus.
